Lower Back Pain Causes
There are many lower back pain causes. In this article I will explain some of the less common lower back pain causes.
Lifting a heavy object incorrectly. This is the most common of lower back pain causes. Nearly everyone knows this. In every occupation that requires you to lift anything, you are required to read some material or watch a video instructing you on how to lift objects correctly. You need to lift with your legs and not your back. If something is too heavy or too awkward for you to lift alone, get a co-worker to help you with lifting the object. Lifting with you back puts strain on your spine and can move your vertebra, rupture a disc, strain muscles, or all three of these things.
A wore out or bad bed or mattress. If you sleep on a bad mattress for a night or two, you’ll be sore in the morning when you wake up but it’s nothing that a bit of movement won’t cure. But over time, sleeping every night on a wore out mattress, can alter the curve of your back thus putting stress on your spine in certain areas causing lower back pain.
Sleeping on your stomach. Chiropractors will tell you this. When you sleep on your stomach, your back is slightly bent and hyper-extended. Over time, this can alter the curve of your back as well and cause lower back pain.
Kidney pain. If you have bad kidneys, your pain will be located on each side of your lower back. It won’t be located in your spine. The pain won’t be sharp either. It will be a dull and intense ache. The pain won’t be associated with straining your back either. It will be more regular and unrelenting.
You never realize how much you depend on your back until you injure it. With a bit of education though, you can avoid injuring your back. You may have to make some changes in your life style but trust me, if you don’t, there may become a time when you wish you did.
